About the Tire Warehouse

It was the winter of 1978 and Wayne Harris was thinking about a career change. The 12-year RCMP veteran, with the constant encouragement of his wife Nettie, decided to do something using his interest in the automotive industry. Wayne opened his first store in south Edmonton and The Tire Warehouse was born.

As a result of hard work, great customer service and constantly striving to improve, The Tire Warehouse grew into what it is today - four locations that customers trust to provide honest service at fair prices.

Beginning with a modest one bay store in a condominium warehouse, the company soon expanded to take over the entire complex. During this expansion, The Tire Warehouse also diversified its range of services to include complete automotive repair.

Soon, a second store in central Edmonton was added and Nettie's son, Doug, was given the task of managing it. Doug had been working for several years at the south Edmonton location as a tire technician.

After surviving the hard economic times of the early 1980's, The Tire Warehouse opened a west Edmonton location. Also at this time construction began on a new building for the central location and the south Edmonton store relocated to a new 20 bay facility.

In 1990, Doug moved to the head office to take over as general manager and eventually as president of The Tire Warehouse. Doug formed new alliances that held moved the company boldly into the 90's.

The construction of a new building for the west Edmonton location was followed by a fourth location in north Edmonton. The north location is state-of-the-art and is one of the finest tire and automotive retail stores in Canada.

Today, The Tire Warehouse has 58 bays and still offers the same values and principles that were in place from day 1. The Tire Warehouse wants to exceed expectations with integrity and professionalism.
