Tires Specialty

Why run special trailer tires when an inexpensive car tire will do?

Well, for starters, trailer tires are reinforced for higher air pressure. Air pressure keeps the tires cool and allows you to carry the weight you need without sacrificing stability. Cool, properly inflated trailer tires will allow you to tow easier, safer and not be a bigger drain on your gas tank. And now in many provinces, including British Columbia it is law that ST trailer tires are on all trailers.

Remember that not all trailer tires are created equally. There are many cheap, offshore trailer tires that you can buy but do not stand up to the heat generated from towing and hot weather combined. Consider that much of your towing is done on the highway, in our summer. The heat generated from long distance driving under load can create a catastrophic failure ( blowout ) of your trailer tire, so it is important to remember when buying trailer tires, buy the right tire for your needs, and buy a quality tire. After all, who wants to be sitting at the side of Rogers Pass changing a tire on your 5th wheel at 7 in the evening?
